We had the lunch special which turned out to be plenty and very good - for an excellent price. Can\t say anything about the athmosphere inside, as we didn\t go in, but if you\re looking to eat local quisine and a choice of three specials is enough for you, then you can\t go wrong here. A\la carte was quite ok as well from a price perspective. Surprising, considering how close this is to the Praterstern station.

I dropped by here because I needed a quick meal and I wanted some authentic Austrian food. I was served by the only staff waiting there, who is quite friendly and happy to help, even though she can\t speak English very well. Not a problem. However, she did bring me the wrong meal - I ordered the garlic dumplings and she brought out the garlic cream soup. No matter, I was eyeing that up too so I took it happily. It was nice enough. Getting the waitresses attention proved to be quite the challenge. She spent a lot of time keeping an eye on the tables out the front on the sidewalk, and when she came inside she was mostly chatting with her pals who were having a meal at the front table. She even sat down with them for a good while to share photos with them on her phone, completely oblivious to what was going on around her. Eventually (15 or so minutes later) I got her attention and managed to order dessert, a slice of sachetorte. It tasted nice but the cake was dry, clearly several days old. All-in-all, not a very impressive experience. If you want authentic Austrian cuisine in the Praterstern area, I recommend the Gasthof Reinthaler instead.
