At RM178 for the buffet I kind of expected more. The food was definitely of high quality but looking back, choices were limited and the spread not as extensive as other restaurants. The Roast Beef and Roast Lamb stations were excellent with superb meat. The prawns in shells were alright but some of them were floury. The oysters and crabs were fresh too. On the japanese side, they only had salmon and chopped scallops and limited rolled sushi. The cold cuts were nice as was the pizza. There was an Indian food station that I didn\t sample but my son said it was good. The local Malay food station didnt quite appeal and there was also a soup noodle station. The desserts were not terribly exciting although their ice creams get a superb mention! The sad ending to the night was when we asked for tea and the warmed milk had a hair in it..... I didnt feel like complaining especially since we dont take milk with our tea. Still, for a hotel of Hilton\s standing, this was really not acceptable. I mentioned it to the waiter who only offered to change the milk.... The restaurant is small and it actually takes two seatings. One from 6-8 and another from 8-10. Service starts to drop around 8pm as they are too busy clearing up for the next seating. We didnt get water although we asked for it many times. Overall good food but a bit of a disappointment overall.

VASCO\s is the old Sudu restaurant at KL Hilton. The change of name was to reflect its new vibrant expression, but the menu remains one of the best in town for buffet. one is spoilt for choice but i usually go for these in order to maximise the delights in what is a futile attempt to go for a little of everything: starting with the briyani section, i will put a ladle of chicken briyani and add fish curry, dhall, papadam (the crunchy indian cracker) and some chutney. once done, will visit the carvery to sample pieces of roast lamb or chicken. will always add olives and grated corn, the former being a healthy choice. dessert is a must. i usually pick a chocolate creation, say mousse or lava, then the hot coffee without milk to balance the sweetness. all in all, a satisfying meal; but there are lots more to choose, perhaps at another occasions (like the japanese section, the chinese noodles and more desserts).price is not that cheap for a fine dining restaurant, but my Hilton card and Maybank credit card are useful.

I visited in June 2015 and again in May 2016. Whilst the breakfast is still well above the standard of other hotels, the experience this time is well below that of last year. The selection of fresh tropical fruits has significantly declined, with the various cooking/selections stations having been moved and somewhat downgraded. Staff are as helpful as usual but overall there is a sense of cost cutting across the whole hotel.
