Not the most obvious of entrances, and up a few stairs, but then you find yourself in a great sized venue, sort of like walking into a TARDIS! Had a great time in Purple Haze, the cover band playing were excellent, and played a good range of heavy rock/ metal tracks. Audience (mostly local, with a smattering of backpackers and tourists) participation electric, people bouncing around, not a hint of any trouble. Great sound system, a lot of money has been invested in this, good quality sounds, without crazy volume. If you\re a heavy rock/ metal fan, and in Kathmandu, don\t miss this!

The Nepali people are AMAZING at live music. Music just seems to be a normal talent here. There are usually Nepali bands playing here doing covers of rock songs and a good lively crowd. The drinks are a bit pricey though. Pool tables are free to play and you\ll have no problem finding Nepali people down for a game. They love pool, but will try to get you to bet 1-2 hundred Rupees ($1-$2 USD) a game. It\s not much and its all good fun. Be warned, many of them are very skilled!

Great music. Lots of fun. Drinks not too expensive, however most of the beers I asked for they did not have in stock that day. Very busy and as such had trouble finding a place to sit/stand.
