Jhochhen Street, Kathmandu 44600, Nepal
Try their stuffed mushrooms or any other of their inventive continental/cross over dishes. Everything we tried was extremely fresh, well cooked and different from the hundereds of places I've tried in India and Nepal. Upstairs is a cosy place to sit and look out over Freak Street, meet the finest of Kathmandu art and music scene, have cold beer and some truly tasty food that is also safe to eat. Talking to the staff they are very serious about health and hygiene as well as the taste. Very cheap too it was. Can recommend to anyone looking for an informal place to relax end enjoy, great for couples as well as with a few friends or alone.
A lovely new restaurant one flight up from Jhochen Tole. Excellent dumplings (mo mo) and pakoda, a Nepali vegetable fritter. Wide range of other intrguing menu items as well. There are two more floors, live music, a helpful and attentive staff...the perfect getaway after a long day of wandering in Kathmandu, and you can watch all the comings and goings if you have a seat near the window.
I had a small birthday party here, was in short of budget but thank god they had the special drink menu of buy 3 and get one free on that Friday evening. It was at time of blockade the food were very limited but still they managed to get us something on table. Stayed till late evening had a wonderful time. I will keep visiting this place and definitely recommend to others as well.
