The club is next to the beach and the lower pool. It is excellent for good quality food without being fine dining. Well supported in the evenings because of its situation which provided good atmospheres. Lunches were excellent too.

We were not sure how to get into this property, so we decided to just get into the hotel , inquired for a beach side lunch, and were lucky to get a table into The Datai\s beach club. We were received at the reception and from their we were sent to the beach club by a golf car. All drivers were Nepali and spoke nice Hindi, felt great. Then we got a nice beach side table and asked for Vegetarian options, were surprised to see a whole menu with Veg options. We ordered pasta and fried noodles and waited patiently enjoying the view. Food was lovely, authentic pasta in pesto sauce. Definitely a pricey restaurant, but we have nice memories of this lunch by the Datai Beach.

We only ate here on our last night at The Datai, but I would go back tomorrow if I could. The menu is relaxed Mediterranean in style, pretty well priced, featuring grilled seafood and meats. We started with red snapper ceviche, which was good, but the jalapeño peppers were a bit too fierce for the delicate raw fish. For my main I had grilled salmon trout, which had good flavour, but suffered a little from being frozen and imported. My partner had a spatchcock chicken, which he said was good. We shared the \signature dessert medley\, which was filling and featured many different items on a bookshelf style display, which had the theatre of \Great British Menu\ creations. It was a warm and humid night, so try to request a table in an open area to benefit from the sea breeze.
