A good chippy, cooking fresh fish to order and at a reasonable price. The portions are generous and very filling. Certainly worth a visit.

This is one of our local fish and chip shops, which comes in very handy on evenings when you want to grab a convenient meal with the minimum fuss. Food bought here is of good quality, value and much of it is cooked to order. Portions are on the generous side and prices are in line with other similar shops in the locality. As a traditionalist I normally go for cod and chips. The fish is always perfectly filleted with chunky white flakes. I can\t remember ever finding a bone on the many occasions I\ve been here. The batter isn\t normally crunchy, but it\s not soggy either - somewhere in the middle, which will satisfy most customers. A lot of the locals come here, which is testament to the good quality of food on sale. However, I wouldn\t say service was always very quick. It is not uncommon, in my experience, to wait 10 or 15 minutes for fish to be fried. Obviously it\s preferable to have freshly prepared food, but if you\re in a rush it\s probably something to bear in mind. I would also add that the opening times are a bit unusual. It\s only open 3 or 4 days a week. Many a time I have been walking home from work and thought "I\d quite fancy chips" but found the shop closed.
