Having heard many positive things about O\sheas over the past three years, I figured it was about time we gave it a try. Oh how I now regret this.......... Three meals ordered, from the rather boring menu, two were the Steak Special and the other was the Children\s Chicken Nuggets meal. Let\s start with the service from the blunt and disinterested bar staff, who were far too busy playing with their phones or drinking coffees. I know it can get boring working behind a bar, I did it for years, but leaning on the wall or countertop or gobbling down marshmallows is just not a good look. Pay attention to the service window and polish your cutlery and glasses. It really makes a huge difference. When a meal is ready, be there....serve it and table check the diners. Food.... Hmm, perhaps the "Chef" is to blame but I suspect that the penny pincher that does the ordering of stock should shoulder most of the blame for what was possibly the WORST steak meal I have ever been served. The cut of the Rump Steak was cheap, containing lots of gristle and fat, under seasoned and burnt on one side. This is in itself no mean feat as it was ordered rare, hence it came out medium. - FAIL. The Coleslaw was not freshly cut, instead it was most likely from a bag of pre cut cabbage, mixed with cheap store bought coleslaw dressing in a jar. It tasted cheap, nasty and way overdressed and was just slopped onto the plate with absolutely no care or panache. - FAIL The fries were slightly overcooked, which I will admit can be to some people\s liking, but the fact that they were tainted by the fish, that had obviously occupied the same deep fryer previously, was again not what I was looking for as I do not enjoy seafood. - FAIL As for the "Peppercorn Sauce", well let\s examine the name right there. It contained absolutely no peppercorns whatsoever and was not a sauce. It can only really be described as a gelatinous brown mass of congealed flour, milk and New York cut pepper.
