We had a wonderful time (again) at Cooks & Soldiers. This time in a intimate setting with fellow foodie friends. Having the chef choose our menu, and the waiter pair it with excellent wines made our meal a great, relaxed and conversational experience. We will certainly return!

Having traveled in the Basque region of Spain, this was a treat on many levels other than the nostalgia bit. First of all, it is a lovely and lively atmosphere. It was too hot to dine outside, but on a nice night, it would be delightful. Inside is noisy, but fun! The service is friendly, competent, and helpful in deciding how to tackle the menu. We didn\t have anything bad. Nothing. But the standouts were the grilled pulpo, ensalada atun, meat platter, and the Basque gateau for dessert. The drinks were great - La Lorea and pale green something were both good. I had a glass of the bobal which was good, and one of our party had one of the mescal drinks which was excellent. Oh, I forgot the grilled cheese - not particularly Basque with American white cheddar, but still crispy and delicious!

Went there before a show @ Terminal West - what a treat. We sat outside and it was great. Our server was really helpful and entertaining too - always there when we needed something, never hovering over us and bothering us when we didn\t. A fun, tasty dinner done right. The Wrecking Bar Kolsch was also delicious and went perfectly with the octopus and other food we had. Love this place.
