There\s alot of rave reviews here that I don\t quite understand. The store is very small and therefore their selection of food is very small as well. I bought a selection of pastries, slices of tortes, some hand made pasta, and cheese. Their pasta was very good and a good price considering they were made from scratch! Same with their tortes. They had some pastry stuffed with nutella that was sickly sweet with a very hard shell and not enjoyable to eat at all. I thought their cheese selection was very mediocre and pricey. I was disappointed that the selection wasn\t bigger and the people weren\t warmer. They had an attitude. The thing with a neighborhood deli is part of the enjoyment of going there is to be greeted warmly, recognised, small talk, whatever. I don\t expect them to remember my name but at least look up from the deli counter when someone arrives at your store and smile. No words necessary! No English necessary! I am going to keep hunting for another deli given the lack of warmth at this one. Budgeons, the grocery store at Belsize park has a much better cheese selection I should add, and were friendlier as well. It\s not the feel of a neighborhood deli, but then again either was this. So a bit disappointing, given the premium price I am paying for some of the products!
