When we finally got back to the stables, an older gentleman who claimed he was trained in first aid proceeded to roughly grab my ankle, put ice directly onto my skin and tried to bandage it with an old dirty flannel (I am first aid trained, and all of these are mistakes.). My husband and I were furious and we just got out of there. They refused to take payment, which was very good of them. My main problem here is the fact that they have no real plan for accidents- and accidents do happen with horses. Nobody was first aid trained, the leader was freaked out and had no idea what to do, and the owner seemed more concerned with running her errands than tending to an injured customer.
