Behind the brick exterior lies a treasure trove of monuments and plaques covering fascinating periods of British history. It is one of those strange buildings where, as you enter the door, the interior seems bigger than the outside. Parts were bombed in the Second World War, but mercifully much was saved including the More Chapel area with it's links to Sir Thomas More. There is a Triumphal Arch, Chained books and much else to see. Do not miss the excellent statue of Sir Thomas in the grounds. We will certainly return for a more detailed viewing and strongly recommend you make time for a visit.
